Synopsis[]
Ben must use his former Border Patrol connections when he is forced to execute an audacious heist for the cartel so that his ex wife and daughter won’t become victims.
Plot[]
Flashback to 2010 in Los Angeles where a couple of teens are seen tagging a wall. Police capture 2 of them but instead of taking them to the police station, deliver them into the hands of a local gang leader who beats them.
In the present, we see Sultan digging a shallow grave in the vineyards for Frank's body. Juan Diego and Dante arrive at a processing plant in Guerrero, Mexico. They meet with Saulo who apparently was good friends with Dante. Juan Diego tells Saulo that they have noticed that the shipments Saulo has made to Mexico City are light, meaning that there is a possibility that someone is skimming from the profits. Juan Diego gives Dante a pistol and tells him that you always hold the one in charge responsible for problems. Dante raises the gun at Saulo but doesn't pull the trigger. Juan Diego tells Dante that he is showing restraint, unlike when he killed Frank and that he is never to kill anyone on his property unless under Juan Diego's direct orders.
Ben is back in the U.S. and is talking to his daughter on the phone when he gets a text message with instructions to meet someone. The meeting location is the same alleyway where Ben killed the unarmed man previously. Sultan is there and Ben realizes that the Cartel has been digging into his past and may know a lot more about his personal life. Sultan gives Ben a picture of a man that he calls Juan Doe that was recently picked up by the Border Patrol. He tells Ben that he needs to find a way to spring this Juan Doe from detainment, and that he has till the following morning to figure it out.
In Mexico City, Juan Diego and Dante arrive at a fancy gallery where there is an art show. Juan Diego talks with his wife while Dante leans up against one of the paintings, attracting the attention of the artist who implies that the painting is now ruined. Learning that Dante is with Juan Diego, she becomes interested in Dante and they end up having sex in some other room.
Ben arrives back to his apartment and is surprised to find Maria Elena there. He tells her that it is not safe for her there and tells Garrett that he needs to find other accommodations. Just then, Sultan calls Ben and tells him that they don't care about Maria Elena, but that Ben needs to go with him to clean up a mess that Ben made. Ben and Sultan drive to a warehouse where they have stored Frank's car. They remove the VIN plates and drive it to the shore of a lake and they push it into the water.
The next morning, Ben goes to the CBP station, and he uses Garretts ID, which he had stolen the night before, and logs into their network to search for the identity and location of the Juan Doe. Ben is interrupted before he finds him, but he takes some paperwork and uniform items before he leaves.
Ben and Sultan drive to the detention center to try and locate their Juan Doe. Ben is dressed up in full CBP uniform with gun, and he tells Sultan that he will have to be handcuffed and pretend to be a detainee that Ben is using to help locate and identify Juan Doe. Everything is going to plan and they locate their Juan Doe and begin to walk out with him. However, Ben is recognized by one of the detainees and they are forced to modify their plan. Ben tells the Juan Doe to hit him so that the detention center will have to transfer him because of the assault.
Ben knows that ICE will transfer the detainee North to another facility, and he uses his contacts to find out when the transfer will be made. Sultan brings in two of his buddies and they use Ben's information to make their own plan to free Juan Doe. When Ben hears that the plan involves killing the Agents in the transfer vehicle, Ben becomes very angry, but one of Sultan's friends grabs Ben from behind and chokes him out. They leave him and drive off. When Ben regains consciousness, he desperately needs a way to catch up to them so he steals a small delivery van and drives away.
Sultan and his two friends have strung up a very strong cable between two rocks on either side of the road and await the ICE transport van. Ben finally catches up to the van but is unable to stop it before it hits the cable and stops. Jumping out of his van, Ben sees that both of the agents have been decapitated. The detainees in the back are freed and they drive back to Mexico.
Meanwhile, Homeland Security Special Agent Holly Vincent pays a visit to Garrett and tells them that they are investigating Ben for several murders and other crimes and that she thinks that Garrett may also be involved. She wants Garrett to tell her everything he knows.
Back in Mexico, Ben and Sultan deliver Juan Doe to Diego, and we learn that he is actually Mazo Zamora, Juan Diego's brother.
